Every Sunday morning, I get up and do my daily routine, Except today I go to church. When I am at church I greet people. I talk to people and I listen to them. It's a time when we all share our past week's ups and downs. We laugh, we pray but most of all we love and worship God together.
Another person does the same thing I do every Sunday. They talk, they listen, and share their ups and downs. But this person does another extraordinary thing. They teach, they rebuke and encourage the young and the old alike.
Another person does the same thing these other two people does. This person talk, listen, and share their ups and downs. Also this person teach, rebuke and encourage the young and old alike. But this person does another extraordinary thing. This person preaches the word and tells us to be prepared in season and out of season all with patience and careful instruction.
This is what we as brothers and sisters in Christ do on a regular basis as a church. Some are members who attend regularly to get the word of God. Some are teachers and encourages. Some are preachers and elders who gives the inspired words of God.
We are the brothers and sisters in Christ. We are the children of the kingdom of heaven. We are the church.
Today's devotion comes from:
2 Timothy/2 Timaute 4:2
Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct rebuke and encourage - with great patience and careful instruction.
