In life, there are moments that you are frustrated and angry with God. It all seems hopeless when things don't go according to your plan. But God knows when the right time is and when it will give you the most joy in life.
Remember the story of Sarah and Abraham. For so long, Sarah couldn't bear a child. Then at an old age of 90, she was given a child. At 90, can you believe that? Through all those years without a child, can you sense that she too was probably at God, calling out to him, questioning him, and still not hearing anything from God. By loving God, serving God, and being a good helper to her husband Abraham, one would only assume that God would grant what she so longed for. For the longest time, God didn't. She kept pushing on, hoping and still loving God, serving God, and being a good helper to Abraham. Then at that old age, her request was granted. A child named Isaac at her old age. Oh what joy she must have experienced.
In the bible, there are countless other stories of long suffering but great joy at the end. Another story of child bearing at an old age, Rebekah and Isaac and the 40 years of wondering in the desert and then finally given the promised land are just examples of a long waited promise but when it is given, joy is everywhere in the lives of those who are touched.
If your answers have not been answered, do not waiver. If you feel all hope is lost, it hasn't. Just remember that God's time is different from ours. His might be a moment but ours might be a decade. Always remember that God delivers and when he does it will be to his time, the right time and you too will feel the most joy in your life.
Todays devotion comes from:
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
